Creating an international effort in music study and expression.  This multi-faceted music education program will be held near the city and ancient Roman ruins of Capidava in Romania. It will be coordinated by an international team of experts and instructors in the field of music for high school and university students from the region and around the world.

Youth will be provided with the tools and instruction to learn about music fundamentals, theory, composition, music across cultures and performance. Description:

INTERNATIONAL MUSIC EDUCATION creating an international effort in music study and expression.

Coordinators:

Coordinators will include internationally renowned musicians and composers from multiple countries.

Other Management Support:

The program launch will occur at the UNESCO Summer Academy of Learning in Capidava, Romania. Following the program launch, the resources and benefits will be extended into music schools and universities throughout the region under the supervision of university professors and the World Genesis Foundation management team.

 

Project Goals and Objectives

Short-term:

To provide tools, concepts and techniques necessary for understanding, learning and appreciating music performance, music composition and the performing arts.

1. Building skills in music theory, composition, perception, performance and expression through instruction and performance.
2. Develop concepts of different approaches to music composition and performance, enabling the development of self-directed learners.
3. Through group discussion, displays and musical exercises, students will begin to explore multiple concepts in music, building an understanding of music across cultures, disciplines and its significance.
4. Through group discussion and projects, students will learn and demonstrate musical performance techniques with various musical instruments to stimulate the development of their musical skills, expression, imagination and creativity as well as music appreciation.

Long-term:

1. All music equipment, instruments and educational materials will be managed and transported by teachers and used in future educational programs both in schools and universities throughout the region, creating a long-lasting educational opportunity.
