The 24th edition of Atlantykron UNESCO Summer Academy of Learning was held between the 2 and 11 of August. This was a year of intriguing programs in areas Science, Science Fiction and Futurology, arts, sports so much more. So what is Atlantykron Summer Academy? This academy is a non-formal educational program aimed at youth and brings together world-class experts and the latest technology, on an island that has less than 1 km 2. It is a unique phenomenon in Romania, a place in which the scientific demonstrations, art classes, communications, cultural awareness and other subjects are taught not like in any school but sitting on the grass, under the sky, under the stars. It has been said that Atlantykron is an island of the future. It is a place where generations of youth have the opportunity to explore subjects, disciplines as well as learning and demonstrating skills in leadership, critical thinking and creativity to name a few, all in a natural environment. "Atlantykron is an example of a school outside the school…we open the windows wide to the future, "says Alexandru Mironov, science journalist and writer, founding president of the Academy Atlantykron.

Among the guests this year were leading figures from science, culture, art and sport in Romania, Italy and the USA.
