Atlantykron Summer Academy
Experts from around the world gather to discuss and explore with youth some of the most important topics facing our planet.

Atlantykron Summer Youth Academy held on an island on the Danube River near the village and ancient Roman ruins of Capidava in Romania August 4-11 2012. For 10 days each year, the island is transformed into a very advanced learning program with studies and hands-on practice with advanced and emerging technologies that cannot be found in even many universities across Eastern Europe. There are also many other studies across the arts, culture and educations. There are nearly 400 youth from around the region and world, most of the students fall between the ages of 16 – 23. This is the time when they are just beginning their adult lives and careers.

Atlantykron had a special guest for the 2012 edition. Guy Djoken, Chairman, U.S. National Commission for UNESCO Clubs, Centers and Associations and Executive Director of UNESCO Center for Peace, was a special guest of the summer academy this year. Guy participated in many discussions with a wide range of topics, one afternoon conference focused on the “Power of Hopes and Dreams,” bringing together students, guests and other participants to share and engage in discussion.

"The 2012 Atlantykron Summer Academy was a wonderful experience and I am thankful to the organizers who invited me to be a part of this great experience. I took away as much as I brought in in terms of knowledge. I was impacted by new friends I met on the island forever. I look forward to attending the 2013 edition," said Guy. “It was a pleasure to have Guy at the Academy. He brought so much to the program and his discussions about the power of hopes and dreams was powerful and will stay with the youth as they create the future they want. We look forward to future projects,” said Sorin Repanovici, Atlantykron coordinator and co-founder of World Genesis Foundation.
