The World Genesis Foundation officially launched its hosting of the annual conference of the European Science Fiction Society. The conference is being held in conjunction with the Atlantykron Summer Academy operated under the auspices of UNESCO at Capidava.

"We are pleased to support this year's UNESCO project at Capidava and honored that the European Science Fiction Society has selected our Academy at the site of their 2001 Annual Conference. This will create a very special and unique opportunity for the youth to interact with our honored guests including Jonathon Cowie, Joe Haldeman, Ion Hobana, David Lewis Anderson, and Norman Spinrad. This will truly be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many of the youth participating in this years program," said Sorin Repanovici, Vice President of the World Genesis Foundation.

The World Genesis Foundation made significant donations to upgrade infrastructure and educational programs to support the combined event.

The World Genesis Foundation was founded on November 30, 1999 and is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to a vision and mission to "leave no child without hope for the future."  Headquartered in Santa Fe, NM USA, the foundation supports activities worldwide to create educational, scientific and cultural opportunities for youth with a special focus in areas of the world where these opportunities are limited or do not exist.
